The font is located in the nave, W of the S porch. Square Sussex marble bowl, with plain sides and a moulding around the bottom edge shaped to receive five shafts. The four polygonal angle shafts are of freestone (limestone?) and have undoubtedly been replaced, but the fat central shaft, although superficially rendered, is of Sussex marble and may be original. A circular lead plug in the NW spandrel, and a corresponding circular indent in the SE spandrel, are remnants of a lock. The lead lining does not reach the rim of the basin. The shafts stand on a shallow plinth of Sussex marble, shaped with bases. This sits on a modern freestone plinth (0.18m high).
