Image of the feature "IV. Interior Features: 5. Interior Decoration: c. Miscellaneous: Stiff-leaf capital" at Reading Abbey, Reading.
by Ron Baxter.
Reset on SW crossing pier. The capital is badly worn but was originally octagonal with a roll necking and a grooved abacus, and is carved with stiff-leaf on three of its faces. It is strictly too late for the CRSBI, but is included as valuable evidence of work at the site in the early 13thc.
