Description

A general introduction to Glastonbury will be found under the entry for Glastonbury Abbey. Chilkwell Street is to the E of the medieval town centre. The official listing combines nos. 51 and 53 in one, saying they are two cottages meeting at an angle; possibly of C16 origin, but much altered, of two storeys, built of rubble and some red brick. Over the doorway of No 51 is a carved stone representing the Agnus Dei.
