Dulas is a village in the Golden Valley, 10 miles SW of Hereford and 4 miles from the Welsh border. There is little to the village except Dulas Court, now a retirement home but formerly a 16thc house that was rebuilt by G. C. Haddon for Col. Fielden in 1864-65. The parish church of St Michael once stood in the grounds of Dulas Court, but Haddon built a new church (now redundant) on a site to the SE. The only fabric remaining from the church is the Romanesque former W doorway which has been re-erected as the entrance to the garden of a cottage in the grounds of Dulas Court, some 150yds N of the main house.
