The only Romanesque fabric within the 19th-century church is a 12th-century window head which is reset into one of the walls of the porch.
In 1086 the estate belonged to the church of Wilton. With land for 4 ploughs, a mill, meadow, pasture and woodland, it was worth 100s. No church is mentioned.
The church dates from 1877-8 and was designed by C. E. Ponting. The foundation stone of the church was laid on 20th July 1877 and the new church opened on 25th September 1878.
