Parish church
Colerne church has nave arcades that date from around 1200 (south) and the early 13th century (north). The chancel dates from the 13th century but was altered in the 19th century. The west tower dates from the 15th century. The church was restored in c.1854 and 1877 by Wilson, Willcox and Wilson of Bath. The only Romanesque sculpture is a c.1200 figure of a saint in a niche, set into the north wall of the nave.

The current church consists of a chancel, a nave, N and S transepts, a small S porch and a broad W tower. The lower part of the W tower dates from the 12thc but the upper part is Perpendicular. The transepts date from c1300. The arch into the nave from the tower and the chancel arch both date from the 12thc and there is a late 12thc S door.

The church at Ashton Keynes consists of a nave, chancel, narrow N and S aisles, SE chapel, N and S porches, and a W tower. The nave clerestory and aisles and the W tower were built in the 14thc and the N and south porches were added in the 15thc. However, the church retains many 12thc and 13thc features. The chancel arch, raised and widened in the 1876-7 restoration, retains some stonework from the late 12thc. The W bays of the N nave arcade date from the late 12thc or early 13thc, and the E two bays were added in the first half of the 13thc. The S arcade was built around 1200. The font also dates from the late 12thc.

The village of Ashley lies some 8 miles SW of Cirencester. The Fosse Way forms part of the parish boundary and also the county boundary with Wiltshire. Ashley was one of several parishes that were transferred from Wiltshire to Gloucestershire in 1930. The church is built of coursed rubble and consists of a W tower, nave with narrow S aisle, S porch and chancel that was rebuilt in 1848. The S doorway and chancel arch are Romanesque.

The north nave arcade dates from the late 12th century and the south arcade from the early 13th century. The north door of the nave is a small round headed door decorated with a roll moulding. The south door, later like the arcade, is a small round headed arch decorated with a chamfer and a small hoodmould. Soon after, probably near the mid 13th century, the north choir aisle was built using details in imitation of Salisbury Cathedral. The west tower is Perpendicular in style but was built by Arthur Blomfield in 1880.

Norton has its origins in the late 12th or early 13thc but it was rebuilt in the 15thc It was restored in 1854, through the patronage of Joseph Neeld of Grittleton House. The font is the only 12thc sculpture at the church.

The church may have Anglo-Saxon origins but was transformed with 13thc. nave arcades and probably also the chancel, where one 13thc. lancet survives. In the 15thc. the building was remodelled and the church was restored in 1861-2 by JW Hugall from London.

St Nicholas is a small 13th century church that was rebuilt and restored in 1802 and in the mid 19th century. The font is the only 12th century carving in the church.
